Hello my Atrium friends, this is Mrs. Vale from level 2 atrium with miss Hannah from level 1 atrium. Today we are going to demonstrate going to Adoration. While we all miss being with Jesus at Mass, we are given this wonderful opportunity to spend more time in quiet meditation and prayer with Jesus. In Matthew 19:14 Jesus said “Let the Little Children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these” Jesus invites you to spend time in something we call Eucharistic Adoration.
So what is Eucharistic Adoration? It is when we go to our church to spend time just with Jesus. We sit or kneel and we quietly listen to what Jesus has to say to us. And he listens to us. It is a wonderful time which I hope you enjoy. There are many prayers you can say while at adoration, but here is one you can begin with. “Jesus I Adore you!” You can say this while using your fingers or some rosary beads or I am including a sheet that you can take with you to adoration. It is from a lovely website www.guidedchildrensadoration.com that your parents can print out for you. Luckily for you, you have already been practicing all the works that you needed to do this all by yourself! When we go adoration we use our quiet atrium voices. We walk slowly and respectfully toward Jesus, just like in atrium, and we genuflect to Jesus just like we practice, but at adoration, we always go down to both knees, to make sure we are being respectful of His real presence in front of us. Let’s watch Miss Hannah Demonstrate this.
I hope you enjoy your time with Jesus too.
Thank you to Mrs. Schlenz for singing “As I Kneel before you” (copyright)
Thank you to Father Gould for allowing us to film at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Purcellville VA
Blessings,
Caroline

May 2020: Level III children will be meeting by Zoom on Fridays at 2pm. The link to the Zoom meeting will be sent to your email 10 minutes before the meeting. Please help your children be prepared with a Bible and a candle and matches. If they'd like to set up a full prayer table, that's even better.
